Lord Cormack FSA DL

Lord Cormack is one of the longest serving Members of Parliament, having entered the House of Commons in 1970. His interest in Foreign Affairs is reflected in his membership of St. Antony’s College Oxford, of which he is a former Visiting Parliamentary Fellow; his Chairmanship of the British-Finnish Parliamentary Group and of the British-Bosnia Parliamentary Group; and his Governorship of the English Speaking Union. He has been both Vice-Chairman and Treasurer of the United Kingdom Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and he has been a member of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee of the House of Commons. He was knighted in 1995 and was appointed Commander of the Order of the Lion of Finland in 1997. He is also an Honorary Citizen of Texas. He is a Fellow, and former Vice-President, of the Society of Antiquaries. He joined FIRST in 1985.
