Parliamentary elections held in the Republic of Kazakhstan

Rupert Goodman, Chairman of the British-Kazakh Society and Chairman and Founder of FIRST, and Lord Cormack were interviewed by Khabar TV following the parliamentary elections held in Kazakhstan.

Rupert Goodman stated that turnout was very high, with over 70% of the electorate exercising their democratic right to vote. I think this really is an important step for Kazakhstan in the development of the democratic process in the country.

Lord Cormack said: Kazakhstan is one of the few examples of a stable country with a vast territory and multi-ethnic population. I believe that these elections are another step in the development of Kazakhstan as an influential political player on the world stage.
